Since its founding in 2002, World Tea Expo has built a tradition of listening to its audience and collaborating with business leaders to create programs that strengthen the industry. The 2010 World Tea Expo, taking place June 11-13 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, continues this tradition with an array of innovations based on feedback from past attendees, exhibitors, speakers and other stakeholders.
World Tea Expo is proud to announce the most exciting addition to this year's show: the Tea Infusion Challenge, a brewing competition to determine the best infusionist, a tea professional that has comprehensive product knowledge, brewing skills and innate talent to express a tea's characteristics and intended cup. The Infusion Challenge will pit five entrants against each other to see which one can best express the cup from three North American Tea Championship award-winning teas.
The Infusion Challenge is only one of many new features at this year's World Tea Expo. The 2010 conference program includes 20 two- and three-hour workshops and focused tastings - that’s more than one-third of all the educational sessions.
Held in a special area of the trade show floor, this year’s events include Vendor Presentations, where product developers introduce their own creations, and an Author's Circle, where top thinkers such as Frank Hadley Murphy, Kim Hendrickson, Roy Fong and Bruce Richardson will engage audiences in stimulating conversation.
Back by popular demand is the opening night reception, which will be held separately from awards and other functions, allowing people to greet old friends and make new acquaintances without distraction.
With two months to go before the Expo opens, 43 first-time exhibitors have already signed on to participate. Most of these companies have never before been seen publicly in the industry and will put a fresh face on a show floor that is already known for its innovative exhibitors.
