Creekside Springs, a regional leader in the bottled water industry, has achieved Safe Quality Food (SQF) Code 2000 – Level 3 Certification.

Creekside Springs (Creekside), a regional leader in the bottled water industry, has achieved Safe Quality Food (SQF) Code 2000 – Level 3 Certification.

Level 3 is the highest standard to be certified by SQF. The SQF Program is administered by the SQF Institute (SQFI), a division of the Food Marketing Institute (FMI), and is the culmination of more than 15 years of development.

Both Creekside manufacturing plants have now received SQF Level 3 Certification: Salineville, Ohio and Ambridge, Pa.

In order to receive SQF certification, each of these plants was audited to reassure customers that the product has been produced, processed, prepared and handled according to internationally-recognized quality standards.

"We are very proud to be a SQF-certified Level 3 bottled water manufacturer," says Jim Sas, Managing Partner and CEO. "The total certification process took about 18 months and our team worked very hard to make this happen. Achieving Level 3 SQF Certification fits our organization's commitment to produce quality products and assure customer and consumer confidence."

The SQF Program is a leading, global food safety and quality certification program and management system, designed to meet the needs of buyers and suppliers worldwide. The program provides independent certification that a supplier's food safety and quality management system complies with international and domestic food safety regulations. This enables suppliers to assure their customers that food has been produced, processed, prepared and handled according to the highest possible standards, at all levels of the supply chain.

SQF is designed as a food safety program, but it also covers product quality, a feature that is unique to a certification program of this type. Assuring consistent quality and meeting buyer specifications are important aspects of the buyer-supplier relationship.

"Due to the increasingly important role consistent quality plays in vendor decisions, we expect our Level 3 SQF Certification to be a key selling point for us in the months and years ahead," says Chuck Wozniak, president.
